 The Imagine Cup is the world’s premier student technology competition and seeks innovative competition entries that address the Imagine Cup 2012 Theme: Imagine a world where technology helps solve the toughest problems. The Imagine Cup consists of several different competitions, as described at www.imaginecup.com. Only the Software Design Competition has a national stage in the UK, but UK students can participate in any of the other Imagine Cup competitions online at www.imaginecup.com.

 

 

The UK Software Design Competition consists of the following steps and for more information on these steps refer to the UK SD Terms and Conditions:

Teams register their members and an optional mentor at www.imaginecup.com

b)

Before 13 March 2012

Teams submit a Round 1 Preliminary Summary Document at www.imaginecup.com

c)

Before 13 April 2012

(Optional) Teams participate in an Institution UK SD Competition Qualifier

d)

Before 15 April 2012

Teams submit a Round 2 Software Design Video at www.imaginecup.com

e)

18 April 2012

Microsoft announces the teams that have qualified for the Finals of the UK SD Competition

f)

19 - 24 April 2012

A panel of academics and industry experts judge the UK SD Competition Finals

g)

25 April 2012

Microsoft announces the winners (First, Second and Third places) of the UK SD Competition Finals

h)

Before 27 April 2012

The team members and the mentor of the First placed team confirm their compliance with relevant eligibility criteria and travel documentation

 

 

Prizes for the UK SD Competition finalists (excluding mentor)

 

First Place Team:

Each team member wins a Windows Phone, a trip to the MTC in Reading and will travel  

to Sydney, Australia for the Imagine Cup Worldwide Finals*

Second Place Team:

Each team member wins a Windows Phone

Third Place Team:

Each team member wins a Pocket Digital Camcorder
