Congratulations for taking on the Imagine Cup Challenge. We
are really looking forward to seeing the solutions that
you have come up with to the world’s toughest problems. Last year Ireland were crowned world wide champions
in New York City with IT Sligo's Team Hermes. Which one of you will try to
defend this crown at the World Finals in Sydney Australia in July? We can't wait
to see.
Our main sponsor this year is Invest Northern Ireland who has launched a new challenge to all
Northern Ireland students. Their challenge is around building applications to support the
governmental initiative around Connected Health. Connected Health is simply a new model for healthcare delivery that uses technology to provide healthcare remotely. Invest NI are being supported by one of Irelands most thriving technology companies,Kainos.
Kainos are running mentoring sessions for students across Northern Ireland along
with working with them on inspirational ideas around Connected Health. This is just one of the challenges that we have and by no means excludes students from any region looking at other solutions.
Afterall the world is full of many problems, health is just one of them.
In addition to that challenge we are adding some
other category awards which will opens up more oppertunities for students to win at
the finals event in Dublin; they are;

Best use of Azure for implementing a S+S architecture application

Best implementation of Metro design in your application.

for the Irish Software Design finals.
Tuesday 24th April 2012 - Day One of judging for Irish Software
Design finals.
Wednesday 25th April 2012 - Day Two of judging for Irish
Software Design finals with Winners announced.
July 2012 Imagine Cup 2012 Worldwide Finals in Sydney,
Australia.
