The Imagine Cup History

The places we've been. And oh, the places you'll go.

São Paulo. Delhi. Barcelona. Paris. Cairo. During the past eight years, the Imagine Cup has held its worldwide competitions all over the globe. And while its modest beginnings back in 2003 were in fact pretty humble (fewer than 1,000 student competitors), the Imagine Cup has grown to more than 325,000 registered students last year alone!

This year, the Imagine Cup Worldwide Finals will be held in New York City, USA. Think you could take home the Imagine Cup? Get started by registering.

Meet the teams and individuals who won big with Imagine Cup.

Why all the attention? It's simple. The Imagine Cup is a way for you to use your creativity, imagination, and brainpower to open up a world of opportunities after graduation. And to make a name for yourself in the world of technology. Some past competitors have gone on to secure a great internship or the perfect job, while others have started their own companies based on their Imagine Cup project—and it's all in the name of helping to solve the toughest problems using technology.

Get to know some of the previous years' winners below. Who knows, maybe their stories will spark an idea or two!
