These students pictured above in the grey t-shirts, assisting at every twist and turn, are the Egyptian Microsoft Student Partners (MSP) and Event Volunteers. They have been our ambassadors to Cairo, helping to make sure Imagine Cup 2009 is an experience all attendees will never forget.
Michael Johnstone, Short Film captain, shares the following about the MSPs, “they have been fantastic and very involved with the students - helping them with many of the technical hurdles they were encountering with their cameras and equipment.” Many of us working on Imagine Cup do not know what we would do without these “can-do” students.
I met with 3 of the MSPs: Seif Mokhtar, Ahmed Ashraf, and Mohamed Yamama. Each of them started as Microsoft interns and then they were asked to join the prestigious MSP program. Their role is to be the eyes and ears of Microsoft on their college campuses. They work to help student’s access MS software, programs and trainings plus they get to work at specific Microsoft events and technology events during the year in Egypt. Of course, Imagine Cup 2009 is the biggest event they have worked on to date.
