    How to submit?

Let me clarify what is a correct submission. There are 4 questions. I'll greatly appreciate any help regarding them.

As I understood the only thing I need is the following:

    1. Develop the robot

    2. Press "Qualify"

    3. Enter mail and password

    4. Wait until the robot ends the mission

Question 1. Is the understanding correct?

Question 2. What does the following sentence mean? (it's taken from "WHAT CONSTITUTES AN ELIGIBILE ENTRY?").

"Each Qualifying Run will consist of up to three (3) separate executions of the source code for the robot portion of your entry."

When I ran qualification the mission was run only once and I got "Entry submitted". There was only one execution of the source code.

Question 3. Does the following sentence from "Entry Limits" mean that "qualify" button can be pressed only once? Does Mars Mission really has 3 rounds?

"We will only accept one (1) entry per person. In other words, limit one (1) Qualifying Run (consisting of three (3) rounds) per person."

Question 4. How to submit the compiled files? Are they sent automatically?

"Your submitted entry must include the compiled files created for the entry."

    Thanks in advance!

I don't know, too, so I'm not sure what will happen when I'll press qualify run.

    Re: How to submit?

    1 - Yes, it's correct

2 - There are mistake in the rule (sentences that come from sumo challenge), ignore this sentence

3 - You should submit only one time. If you run several qualification round, it takes only the last one

4 - Binary, code, ... will be requested if needed (by e-mail)

    Re: How to submit?

     Hi,

I submitted my entry yesterday by pressing "Qualify" button. It is supposed to be sent. I have the ".plb" and ".rce" files in my computer. As you say, the code will only be requested by e-mail if needed, right? So, I do not have to upload the "ZIP" file under "Submit Entry" section of Imagine Cup web page. Am I wrong?

     Thanks in advance.

    Regards,

    Álvaro

As long as you haven't received any other instructions, you haven't to submit your "zip". You will be noticed as soon as possible if we need these files. For now, just run your qualification and keep your code.

     Hi Vincent,

I couldn't save the entry description and list of technologies in the submission form because a warning message popped up and said that a zip file had to be uploaded. Please let me know how to proceed, as there is not much time left.

Hello, I ran qualifying, it succeeded. I put the source code, binaries, documentation in a zip file and uploaded it to the server. But I couldn't get any .plb file, how can I get one? I've just seen that it wasn't neccessary to send a zip file yet, so will it be ok without the plb file?

    Re: How to submit?

When the qualification runs successfully, you should see "Entry Submitted" in the console at the end of the mission. For zip/rce/plb files, I haven't new information, I guess that judges will ask codes to select six finalists among the best scores. You will be informed soon.

I put everything there from the ...\Microsoft Robotics Dev Studio 2008 Express\bin folder which had new modification dates

I think 3 files are enough:

    Microsoft.Robotics.RoboChamps.MarsChallenger.Y2009.M02.Transform.dll

    Microsoft.Robotics.RoboChamps.MarsChallenger.Y2009.M02.Proxy.dll

    Microsoft.Robotics.RoboChamps.MarsChallenger.Y2009.M02.dll

But if you want to be sure, just include the new .pdb and .xml files as well

    Re: How to submit?

It should be in the same folder as the other 2 dlls

By default they're in the bin folder in your installation folder of Robotics Studio

for example in my case they are in the C:\Users\NGG\Microsoft Robotics Dev Studio 2008 Express\bin folder

I run qualifaction (725 points) in time and the results were successfully transmitted. But instead of others I wasn't asked to submit my code. So I wonder:

How was it decided whose code is worth a closer look?

Everyone who has sent a 725 submission should get the email. I am investigating why you haven't received the mail and I will contact you when I get more information.

Do you have any check box regarding the communication preferences in the bottom of the Profile page is unchecked? Though it is unlikely it might be a possible reason.
