Microsoft Popfly (internally codenamed Springfield[1]) was a Web site that allowed users to create web pages, program snippets, and mashups using the Microsoft Silverlight rich internet applications runtime and the set of online tools provided. It was discontinued on August 24, 2009.
Its very disheartening for a technology aspirant to hear this news. Microsoft popfly included four tools based on Silverlight technology:
1.Game Creator
2.Mashup Creator
3.Web Creator
4.Popfly Space
5.Shutdown
I feel that this had a big impact on many innovative projects as the doors to achieve these targets were shut, the time when popfly was discontinued
