    Consulting for Idea

I want to participate in Windows Azure Challenge and have an idea for the same. But the problem is i don't know whether it is quite "motivated" by the UN Development Goals or not? In the sense that it is not directed related to any goal but it "Helps Solve on of the Other Problems faced today". Also i don't have a mentor. Can someone guide me where can i find out the list of mentors willing to mentor. And whom should i consult regarding my idea?

    Hi rabisg,

    Question #1

    • "I want to participate in Windows Azure Challenge and have an idea for the same. But the problem is i don't know whether it is quite "motivated" by the UN Development Goals or not? In the sense that it is not directed related to any goal but it "Helps Solve on of the Other Problems faced today"."
    • Answer: You are not required to use the UN Goals, those are just a resource for you, to inspire your ideas. Your Mission: Create and submit a project in one of the Competitions or Challenges that is inspired by the Imagine Cup 2012 theme: Imagine a world where technology helps solve the toughest problems.

    Question #2:

    • Also i don't have a mentor. Can someone guide me where can i find out the list of mentors willing to mentor. And whom should i consult regarding my idea?
    • Answer: There is a Mentor Lounge Forum where you can post to possibly find someone who is interested in Mentoring your team. Also post on the Windows Azure Forum specifically seeking a Mentor in your subject line. You may want to contact your local Microsoft representative in your country/region as they may have a resource for you as well. FYI, you are not required to have a Mentor for any competition or challenge, however, we do encourage Mentors as they can provide guidance and motivation for your project. If you need help finding your local Microsoft Representative, please use the ‘Contact Us’ page to ask the Support Team who you should be reaching out to. Be sure to tell them what country/region you are from J.
